WiSA Surround Hub / Surround Hub X is essentially a wireless audio preamplifier. As a digital, lossless surround system with everything inside, it can offer all capabilities of a traditional AV-receiver. The Surround Hub can seamlessly connect to a variety of audio sources, including turntables, Blu-Ray players, game consoles, CDs, and more, serving as a bridge between these sources and WiSA HT-enabled speakers for playback.
As the control center for your entire system, the wireless audio preamplifier offers an enormous variety of connections. It contains HDMI switching, decoding, streaming and various audio inputs. And, it comes with a 2-way RF smart-remote with full control and feedback, allowing you to hide away the Surround Hub. It is conveniently controlled using the aluminum remote control supplied.
There are two versions of the WiSA Surround Hub, both featuring immersive surround formats from Dolby Atmos in 5.1.2 format. The WiSA Surround Hub X includes both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X decoding up to 5.1.2 formats.
The WiSA Surround Hub / Surround Hub X will connect with any WiSA HT certified speaker on the market. Since WiSA HT protocol is a lossless transport, working up to 24bits/96kHz, the device takes advantage of the digital nature of the transport enabling a package of internal digital signal processing (DSP). The DSP is lossless at 32bits/96kHz, to ensure no degradation of audio quality is introduced.
The WiSA HT device features a premium level decoding DSP inside. It is capable of handling decoding of immersive surround for Dolby Atmos 5.1.2 and DTS:X 5.1.2 (Surround Hub X only). It supports upmixing any content to multichannel playback, utilizing all the speaker channels connected.
The enclosure material for the WiSA Surround Hub / Surround Hub X is specifically chosen, to allow a strong and stable mechanical strength, combined with maximized wireless signal quality from the device – no metal housing is used, to ensure optimal internal working conditions.
The wireless audio preamplifier also features an accessible DSP-core, for which we have a system in the works. This will allow users to access it freely and adapt the system to personal preference. It comes with automated features and manual features, which allows anything from out-of-the-box easy setup up to expert level of manual adaptation. Your skill level is the limit of how well you can get the system to work.

Cabled ethernet and Wi-Fi network
The WiSA Surround Hub / Surround Hub X offers both Wi-Fi and ethernet connection for network access. The device will automatically prioritize cabled network connection over Wi-Fi in case both are used. Using ethernet connection is recommended where possible, as it ensures the most stable streaming experience.
2-way RF smart-remote
The system comes with a delicate aluminum 2-way RF smart remote, which essentially replaces the need for an on-product display and allows you to hide away the hub. The remote has live visual indications for the essential functions – and it enables the on-screen display of the device. It also allows you to control the playback of your streaming.
Hi-resolution playback
The optical inputs support hi-resolution playback up to 24bits/192kHz. Any DSP-feature applied in the DSP-core will be applied to these inputs as well as any other input.
3x HDMI inputs
The WiSA Surround Hub / Surround Hub X comes with 3x HDMI 2.0b inputs and 1x HDMI (eARC/ARC) output. This allows you to connect your TV and up to 3 HDMI sources directly with the WiSA HT Surround Hub. The desired HDMI input will automatically be chosen and shown on your TV. You can adjust the volume from your TV remote, eliminating the need for manually operating the device for TV playback. The Surround Hub supports 2-channel and multichannel PCM audio, as well as any surround format from Dolby or DTS (DTS only for version Surround Hub X).
Analog line input
The WiSA Surround Hub / Surround Hub X has a stereo analog line input with phono connectors. The analog input circuitry of the Surround Hub is using a fully balanced Analog to Digital converter, converting the analog signal to 24bits/96kHz directly at the input sockets – allowing as pure a path as possible. After converted to digital PCM audio, the signal is treated with equal respect as the digital inputs. The line input supports voltages up to 2.5Vrms. This limitation in input voltage is there to optimize the performance of the analog playback.
Power supply
The WiSA Surround Hub / Surround Hub X is powered by an external DC power supply, simply to secure optimum working conditions for the product. The absence of high-voltage AC power in the product secures that signals are kept free from humming or magnetically induced noise from power transformers or converters. It is a clean DC powered device, optimized to get the most out of the precious audio signals fed into the device. Once the audio is digitized, we treat it with the respect it requires to leave the device again in perfect shape. This is what we mean by lossless reproduction.
WiSA Surround Hub / Surround Hub X will connect with any WiSA HT certified speaker on the market - and when combined with our advanced Platin Harmony APP, you unlock a whole new world of features for this device. The APP also allows you to do streaming playback-control and album art showing. You can adjust volume and change the input of the device. It also allows you free access to the DSP-core of the WiSA Surround Hub.

If you for some reason need to factory reset the Surround Hub / Surround Hub X, it can be done in there ways:
• Select 'System reset' from the APP settings.
• Select 'System reset' from the OSD menu.
• Press the pinhole button on the REAR of the hub.
The hub works for 2.0, 2.1, 3.0, 3.1, 3.1.2, 4.0, 4.1, 4.1.2, 5.1, 5.1, 5.1.2, 7.0, 7.1. If you have 2 subwoofers, they will be put under the same "channel", meaning they will react as one sub, but have the power and output as two.
With the hub, it is easy to swap between stereo and surround mode. There is a "direct" setting, which just runs the native format of the incoming audio to the output, so if inout is stereo, output is stereo. If input is Dolby Atmos, the output will be Dolby Atmos.
The hub will switch automatically based on the native format received from the input source. Meaningly, if you have a 5.1 setup but the input audo is stereo, then the format will be played as stereo through your speakers. However, you can also manually make changes to your setup - using a menu we have on the playpage called "Signal mixing". If this is set to Direct Mode, the system will automatically decide the format type as above mentioned, but here you can also choose:
It is possible to connect a soundbar to the hub as long as this is also WiSA HT certified. Our Milan soundbar in this case will not work as that is WiSA DS certified - a different protocal.
The Milan soundbar has a built-in transmitter so with a 5.1.4 Milan system, there is no need for an extra hub. Keep in mind what WiSA protocal is implemented.
Actually not. The Surround Hub / Hub X does not support multiple speakers running different HP and LP on a single channel. That is, you can set up two speakers on the same channel, but they will operate in the same upper and lower frequency range in stereo mode. However, if your speakers natively support HP and LP setting, you can set them individually on the speaker end.

"I started off with the Monaco 5. 1. 2 and later added a second subwoofer. Although I loved the system I felt it was really lacking the punch I expected from it. The surround hub X has brought the best out in the system and really woke the subwoofers up. I hope to see more Android capability added to the Harmony App but overall I'm delighted with the system. It's also great being able to have DTS:X running through consoles and for physical media"
"Device ease of use isn’t as described in the provided booklet. As a consequence, the connection to its built-in menu (control page) still alludes me, no matter how explicit I follow instructions. Subsequently, the default test tone volume is ludicrously high (deafening) so cannot run the speaker tests. It also almost popped my Piega speakers. Also the device keeks disconnecting my headphones every 15mins. I presume this is a power down feature with no obvious way of turning it off. Probably in the settings too, who knows as literature is so basic? Apart from all that, it works as intended"
"The hub cannot be integrated with Logitech Harmony or Sofabaton X1/X2 remote controls because the included remote uses radio frequency technology. When I inquired whether the HTTP requests for network control (volume, input selection), as used by the Platin or Econik apps, would be made available as an alternative, I received a negative response. Another problem is that my Klipsch WISA speakers do not switch to power-saving mode because the hub prevents this in as long, it is at standby mode."

"It took me a while to get this to set up properly with my Rogers Ignite and LG OLED TV, but I think I now have it. I connected the Rogers TV control into HDMI 1 and the eARC out to the eARC input (#2) on my TV. I had changed all the settings on the TV to the required selections, but when I set the input setting on the Surround Hub X remote to eARC as stated in the manual, I didn't get any signal from Rogers. I checked the cables and tried again and all of a sudden I had sound and picture. All in all, I am pleased with this set up."
