Expanding Your Monaco System and Multi-Speaker Channels
Q: Can I buy a Monaco 2.0 system and add a separate Monaco Center speaker? Can I assign multiple speakers to a single audio channel?
A: Yes, absolutely! While the WiSA protocol supports a maximum of 8 independent audio channels (such as a 5.1.2 or 7.1 layout), you are not limited to having only one speaker per channel.
Here is how expanding your system works:
-
Multiple Speakers per Channel: You can assign multiple speakers to play the exact same audio channel. For example, you can pair two subwoofers to the single LFE (bass) channel, or assign multiple center speakers to the center channel.
-
Maximum Capacity: A single WiSA system can support up to 32 speakers in total. This allows you to link up to 4 speakers to any individual channel, though most customers typically choose to pair just 2.
-
App Display vs. Actual Output: Please note that the companion app will always display standard configuration layouts. For instance, if you add a second subwoofer to your 5.1.2 system, the app will still display the layout as 5.1.2 (rather than 5.2.2). However, both subwoofers will receive the audio signal perfectly, effectively doubling your bass output.
